Thunderbirds are Go 1.15 – Relic

If I could get screen grabs from Region 2 DVDs, I wouldn’t know where to start with this thrilling episode. It’s so fun, and there’s so much eye candy in it!

This time out, Alan and Scott head to the moon because one of their father’s old astronaut buddies chose to remain on board the recently-decommissioned base on the far side of the moon. It’s called Shadow Alpha One and it looks a whole heck of a lot like the base from Gerry Anderson’s Space: 1999, and three waves of meteorites are about to smash the place into low-gravity bricks.

Daniel adored it. We paused it for a brief reminder about how gravity works, and then it was full speed ahead. I love how fast-paced this show can be and how effectively they keep things moving. This was just great fun, another superb little episode. If you’re not watching this yet, you darn well should be.

(Note: I can play them, but I’m not presently able to get screencaps from Region 2 DVDs, so many of these entries will just have a photo of the set to illustrate it. Click the image to purchase it from Amazon UK.)

  1. I watched this last night on Amazon Prime. It was great to hear comedian Rich Hall as the moonbase commander (but I wish he had found time to interject a “sniglet” or two…). Also, the “moon buggy” sequence was flat out fantastic.
